The International Behavioural and Neural Genetics Society (IBANGS), was founded in 1996 to promote the field of neurobehavioural genetics. IBANGS organizes annual meetings to promote excellence in research on behavioural and neural genetics. IBANGS is a young and rapidly growing society with members in Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Australia. We welcome established scientists, students and anyone else who is interested in the field of behavioural neurogenetics. IBANGS is a founding member of the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS).

Privacy policy

In order to foster communication between society members, promote our annual meeting, collect membership fees and activate subscription to the society’s journal Genes, Brain & Behavior, we (IBANGS) ask you to provide us professional information (name, department, institution, country, professional status, complete mailing address including telephone, fax and email, scientific interests and membership of other FENS societies) and demographic information (date of birth, gender and ethnicity) and your credit card and/or bank account. Only your professional details are accessible to visitors to the IBANGS website and the publishers of the society’s journal Genes, Brain & Behavior.

We do not store any personal information or any of your financial details once a transaction has been completed.

By consenting to, and agreeing the terms of, the Privacy Policy, you also expressly consent and agree to us processing your data in the manner set out in the Privacy Policy. IBANGS will use your information only in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. We will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information or a list of our members to third parties.

Cancellation/refund policy 

Full refunds of membership fees will be given provided a written claim is made within one week of payment completion.

The deadline for full refund requests for our annual meeting registration fees and associated items (e.g. banquet tickets, social events) is one calendar month before the meeting. Partial refunds after this time will be considered on an individual basis if there are exceptional circumstances. However, we reserve the right to not offer any refund after the deadline has passed.
